3 Questions with Margaret
What is the biggest challenge you face when innovating?
The biggest challenge is interpreting upholstery trends into mass appeal, ready-made product. The palette and pattern have to have mass appeal or what we call “living room-friendly” to last more than one season. The fabric has to be opaque enough to cover a patterned piece of furniture, yet lightweight enough to be user-friendly, which means easy to install and machine washable. Our mantra is to continue to be innovative in fit and functionality while keeping our eye on design.
Has there ever been an instance where another industry has influenced an innovation at your company?
The apparel industry typically influences the home market. A color that is becoming popular in apparel will most likely become relevant in the home market the following season(or two).
Looking towards the future, how is Sure Fit going to be a leader?
