The Power of an Effective Holiday Marketing Campaign

A holiday marketing campaign, depending on how well it's developed, can have a hugely beneficial impact on a company. Whether its an app or an in-store promotion, many brands have benefited by aligning their advertising with a major event.

Starbucks has been known for its holiday cups and Christmas-related promotions, which not only help push forward the branding of the company, but provide consumers with more reason to choose Starbucks over other brands. One of the company's most interactive holiday marketing campaigns was the Starbucks Valentine’s Day Cup Magic app, which put hearts on the coffee cups into motion using augmented reality technology. Capitalizing on novelty appeal, this whimsical but innovative campaign drew customers in and gained the company a great deal of attention.

In addition to in-store promotions, holidays provide companies with a fantastic SEO (search engine optimization) opportunity when it comes to online marketing. Holiday-related search terms will perform unusually well prior to and during such events, and if a company is able to win a top spot in a related search, they'll reap some amazing benefits in terms of web traffic.
