Up Close and Personal: How Google+ Hangout Marketing Could Help Your Brand

Google+ offers plenty of opportunities for brands to show off their culture through the platform, and some are using Google Hangout marketing to accomplish this goal. Hangouts are basically video calls that Google+ users can participate in or watch, and are a great way for brands to connect with consumers more directly. Here are some ways that your company can make the most of the service.

Promote new products or services. Because of the interactive nature of Google+ hangouts, and the ability to save and share the video content once it's been recorded, hangouts can act as a great platform for launching a new product. Hosting a question and answer session with customers, or even offering a walk-through to interested participants. This will not only provide your audience with more information about a new product, but will help to establish a stronger connection between the viewer and the company.

Create interesting, original conversational content. While often typically a better fit for companies who create their own original content, creating interesting dialogues between staff and an audience through Google+ hangouts can draw in viewers to engage with your brand. Glamour Magazine has been particularly successful with this approach, featuring editors and online personalities in hangouts with content specifically tailored to the brand's audience.

Provide consumers with answers. Google+ hangouts offer a great opportunity for brands to provide more value to consumers. Whether it be demonstrating how to use a product or answering questions about how a product or service works, giving your customers more information about your brand in an interesting way can be of huge benefit to your company as well as the consumer.
