3 Questions with Asoka

How does your team generate new ideas?

It comes from a couple areas. The vision for the future of JCS is what we call the 20/20 vision. It references the year and the foresight to look ahead. It represents the clarity to see what could be and new growth areas. The notion of transformational business is new things we need to create, new ways of engaging, new products and service solutions.

Do you have specific rituals for re-setting your team to be creative?

We maintain a few different strategies for re-setting. On a regular basis, we go to events, seminars and conference to benefit two-fold. We hear about different perspectives, we learn a lot about alternate industries and it can act catalyst to ideation. On the other hand, we realize the most creative moments occur, outside of work. We like to try and work remotely and come back with a new spark.

Looking to the future, how is Jarden Consumer Solutions going to be a leader in innovation?

Jarden is a leader today and tomorrow. We refer to the spectrum of innovation within our core and we are strong in adjacent spaces. Most of what we work on is 80% coming out of our core innovations and spending a certain amount of time and resources in transformational spaces. Having a balanced portfolio has led us to be at the forefront.
